Frugal Weed Killer

To get rid of grass, weeds, or anything you don't want.

  • 1 gallon white vinegar
  • 1 lb. salt
  • 1/4 cup dish washing soap
Mix together and spray on whatever you "do not" want.

It really works and is much cheaper than weed killers or spray.

Be careful using this around cement and bricks, it can erode them. Also, my understanding is that you shouldn't use salt anywhere you want to plant something. The salt in the soil will kill anything you plant later on.

If you're not planning on planting anything where you spray, this works great. (06/07/2007)

I've used regular Feed Salt from the local Feed Store. It comes in 50lb bags, cheap. No vinegar or soap. Dissolve 1 cup per gallon of water. The grass seems to come back up in a few months. Bummer, but it looks like you could re plant things there in time if you wanted to, or spray it again. (05/27/2009)
