I wonder if juniper trees provide acid to the soil underneath them. I want to plant 2 blueberry bushes and have no pines in my garden. The junipers are about 25 feet tall and there is scattered sunlight under them.
What do you use to get rid of pesky raspberry plants that are old and sprouting up all over the yard? How do you remove old roots after cutting them back?
I have heard that coffee grounds were good to put on blueberry bushes. Does anyone know how much and how often I should use them? I got berries on this year for the first time and the bunny ate them. They know what's good. Thanks.
I live in Georgia and this is the first time trying to grow Strawberries here. I have grown them in Florida and they did great, but they are dying quickly and have not produced much fruit. What can I do to save what I have left?
When checking on strawberry plants, one resource says to toss the main plants and keep the runners; the other resource says to toss the runners and keep the main plant. Does anyone know which is correct?
I desperately want to grow raspberries but last year when I bought several stocks, they QUICKLY died. I think it might be due to lack of water or some heat issues during the summer... but I'm not positive. I have been told that berries in my area is REALLY hard to pull off.
Plant a Pyracantha (Firethorn) in a entry way for a dramatic look. The berries on my bush are orange in the fall and have white flowers in the Spring. This bush grows rather quickly and training to a column or wall is quite easy for a year around decorative effect. This picture is of my front porch with the pyracantha (firethorn) trained to follow the brick column.
