| Garden: Wine Press Planter
This wine press has been in the family for about 50 years and has seen many, many boxes of grapes and we have enjoyed many, many bottles of homemade wine. The day finally came when the press was ready for retirement and I turned it into a lovely garden piece.

| Reusing a Kettle Barbecue
Some years ago, my husband and I decided to replace our barbecue kettle with a gas grill; but the kettle was still perfectly good. It seemed a shame to get rid of it. We considered drilling holes in the bottom, and turning it into a planter.

| Garden: Toilet Planter
This is a picture of a commode that I use as a planter with lovely impatiens planted in it. I think it's very pretty! The commode was about to be thrown away so my husband got it for free from the literacy council here in town.

| Garden: Pumpkin Planter
Last fall I took a large pumpkin and cleaned it out, filled it with potting soil and put a Mum plant in it. I used it as a decoration on my front porch. At the end of the season, I took the Mum/pumpkin and planted it in the ground.

| Garden: Filling Containers Frugally

My husband is in the construction business. One day he brought this old salad display home. It is the large kind you see at buffets. It has a sneeze guard on the top.

| Painted Pots
Tired of those orange clay pots? Buy some acrylic paints and give them some color. Add a plant, and you can use them in-doors or out, plus have the enjoyment of a hobby. I did not take classes, just start experimenting, its fun and creative.

| Garden: Head Planter
Our daughter made this "head" in pottery class. Our garden needed a little whimsey and he made the perfect addition. He is the "Head" gardener. We call him Big Al after my dad who was the real head gardener in our family.
