| Craft Project: Origami LED Light Embellishments
By Stella Rivét
This is a great way to embellish your lights at anytime of the year. These do take some time but if you get the whole family working on them, they can make nice decorations for your summer parties.

| Craft: Garden Chandelier
Isn't this beautiful? My mom made this for me out of an old chandelier, fake flowers and candles. She removed the electric parts of the chandelier, then took the flowers that are in circles (usually they sit around candles) and cut one end and fit it around the center. Then she got 5 matching candles and put them into the old sockets. This looks beautiful lit up at night!

| Dressing Up a Lattice Fence
I have a lattice fence that hides my pool equipment. I placed Christmas lights (the net kind that you use on shrubs) on the lattice and then planted a vine to cover the lights (I used passionflower here in zone 8 but you could use any vine that does well in your area).

| Use Your Imagination When Decorating Your Outdoor Space
Use items that are otherwise collecting dust and garage sale finds to decorate your outdoor space. We found this sewing machine in a trash pile and purchased the table for $1 at a garage sale. We needed to quickly add some color for an event that would require outdoor photos, so I entwined the blue silk flower swag with the live plants in the bucket and no one knew the difference. The watercan was purchased on clearance at the end of season clearance. My neighbor often tells me she always enjoys looking out her kitchen window to see the "pretties" on my front porch.

| Recycle Jeans As A Planter
Just a idea I had some time ago to dress up my old jeans. Fill up the legs with pipe and put some boots on. Put a potted plant in the top and put it than on a old stepladder.

| Craft Project: Welcome Rock
Take a big smooth rock and clean it well, let dry. If the rock is dark, use light colored paints, if light, use dark paints. You could also paint the whole rock one color but make sure it is dry before painting on the design.

| Craft: Little Gourd Farmers
The little farmers are gourds, painted in the colors you want you can get both straw hats or you can crochet them, which ever you like. The hay bale is styrofoam covered with raffia and I put craft wire for looks. I used the balls that fall out of oak trees, painted them to look like pumpkins, got a couple black birds and glued them on and came out with a pretty neat set.
