Ripening Green Tomatoes Inside
A few weeks ago, I was concerned about an impending frosty night and decided to pull up all my tomatoes. There were tons of green ones that hadn't ripened yet. I read through a lot of feedback to look for the easiest way to ripen them inside and came up with this.

Garden: Pumpkins
Here is my son Ethan in our volunteer pumpkin patch. We didn't plant them, they must have grown from last year's Jack O' Lantern seeds. I think we dumped them into the compost and then spread it out over this section of the yard in the spring.

Planting Onions in Zone 6a
Living in eastern Washington and living in zone 6a, I normally plant my onion sets in the spring. However in order to purchase a variety of shallots, I ordered shallot bulbs by mail order.

Garden: Apples
Here is a picture of my apple tree this year. It was pretty loaded with apples but we should have thinned them at some point and probably need to do more research on getting rid of the pests.

Hardy Kiwi 'Michigan State'
I just discovered that there are kiwi vines that are now available for zone 3-9, so they are very hardy! I did find that they need a male kiwi plant to be with up to 8 other female kiwis.

Garden: Peaches
Here are my peaches this year. I haven't had any peaches on this tree for the last few years, it almost died and has been making a slow comeback. This year, the tree was loaded!

Fall Is Apple Season
By Debra Frick
When I think of fall, my mind goes to new pencils and pumpkins and, of course, apples. If you are lucky enough to have an orchard near you, this is the time of year to go and get yourself a bushel of apples.
