Share Expensive Gardening Tools With Neighbors
My friend, who lives in another town, says she and her neighbors all share their lawn and gardening tools. This way no one has to be out the purchase price of expensive items, like lawn mowers, garden tillers, leaf blowers, etc., unless they just want to be. Clever idea!

Run Your Mower Out of Gas Before Storing
If you have a gas lawn mower, every time you use it, before storing it, make sure the mower runs out of gas. You'll stop the carburetor from gumming up. Also, they make a fuel additive for lawn mowers, that helps clean the carburetor.

Keep Garden Tools in Oiled Sand
Those old, rusty, should-have-taken-care-of-them gardening tools you used last year stand a fighting chance this season with this ingenious storage solution. Instead of tossing them just anywhere once you're done digging and planting, empty a quart of motor oil into a bucket of sand and mix thoroughly.

Oily Sand For Garden Tool Maintenance
