Getting Rid of Fleas Naturally

How do I get fleas off my dog? I started the brewer's yeast early in March, but it's not helping. Thanks to all.

Try borax in the carpets. See my posts. Be sure to leave crystals down for 2 weeks before you vacuum. No fleas for couple of years at least. (04/21/2010)

Have you tried diatomaceous earth? Get it in the food grade. You just sprinkle on the rug, especially under furniture. Wait a day or so then vacuum. You must vacuum very well before putting it down. You can rub some into the fur, also. It is quite harmless if the animals eat it. I purchased some from the Wolf Creek Ranch, which you can find on the internet. (06/06/2010)

I have both cats and dogs and yes last year we had a bad flea infestation. I even shaved them which didn't help much. I ended up purchasing a product called "Cedarcide", which is all natural and will kill even roaches. I found this on the net and did a lot of research and I found out that the military used this product to guard against sand fleas and other nasty critters for our guys in Iraq.

In the laboratory test video I saw, it only took seconds to kill the nasty things. This was proof enough for me to use in my home. I won't use chemicals on my pets, which in the future, can cause cancer in so many pets. You can purchase a fogger machine and do your whole house as well. Just an application on your pets from a spray bottle works well. Good luck. (06/06/2010)

The reason people can't get rid of fleas is when you use a product in your home the fleas will go under furniture and under the mop boards. So when you treat your home, do those places first. Treat the mop boards first and work you way around inside. Don't forget to get a product to treat your yard also, as this is where they are coming from. (06/06/2010)

For all those who are suggesting Boraxo, this is toxic for pet who walks on it and then licks their paws. Garlic is one of the foods dogs and cats can't have. Please research or ask you vet before using any suggestions here. I think that the people who are suggesting, their heart is in the right place, but take an extra step and ask your vet first. For those who are unaware Frontline and all of the flea drops products that we put on our pets are absorbed into the skin and this is why are pets develop cancer and other deadly diseases. Please do your research before putting medicine on you pets. They have to rely on us for their well being when we make a mistake and don't do our homework they ultimately pay the price. (06/07/2010)
