Frugal Crossword Puzzle Gift Idea
This is a frugal holiday or birthday gift idea for people who like crossword puzzles. If you get the daily newspaper, or have a neighbor who does (and doesn't do the crosswords), do this:

Family Gift Baskets for Christmas
We had a big family and now our children are all grown, married, and we have lots of precious grandchildren. The problem is that we can't afford to give individual gifts to all, but still want to give something to each instead of drawing names as our children do among themselves. We have decided to do family gifts.

Holiday Shopping: One Gift at a Time
It gets so hectic during the holidays with shopping, cooking, and avoiding the flu like the plague, so during the year I shop one gift at a time. My 3 children help wrap and we put a homemade tag or handcrafted card on the package and we stow it away until Christmas.

Holiday Gift Etiquette
Many people, myself included, have hobbies such as sewing, painting or general crafting. I wanted to post a reality check for these people before the holidays.

Thrift Shops, Yard Sales, etc. for Christmas Gifts
With everyday life getting more expensive my family had decided to have a little more fun with Christmas other than just drawing names, spending a set amount on a gift and getting that person what they had asked for. We got really creative and decided that we could only spend $5 on a gift for the person we had drawn. We had so much fun!

Memory Gifts For Christmas
Every year the adults in my family draw names and buy a gift for just one person instead of a gift for everyone. Sometimes we have themes for the gifts. One year we did memory gifts (I saw this one on TV) The give was supposed to represent a particularly memory of that person in the past. It was very moving to see what memories people cherish. We will have a different theme this year, don't know what yet.

Buy Calendars After the Holidays For Half Price
Everyone in my immediate family and several close friends know that within a day or two after Christmas, I'll hit the local bookstores (Borders, Barnes and Noble) and get calendars at 1/2 price, and give them as their "after Christmas/Hanukkah gifts". I spend as much as $100, but get $200 in calendars.

Happy New Year Gifts
I give Christmas Gifts a few days after Christmas and call them Happy New Years Gifts. The reason why: I don't want people to feel obligated to give me something in return yet I want to say Thank You.

Craft: Angel Clip Necklace
A girl I work with made these cute necklaces for all of our co-workers one year for Christmas. This would also be a great craft for kids. You could even hang one in your car with a note, "Don't drive faster than your guardian angel can fly."
