Apple Candles For Teacher Gifts
For teacher gifts, I buy apple scented sampler candles, wrap them in holiday fabric, and tie with wired garland. Now that the kids are older and have several teachers they have a little something for each one.

If giving gift cards is your style, package it with a little go-with gift and cute note. A friend has just finished acupuncture school and I am getting him a package of sewing needles and a wine store gift card with a cute note about something to get started on!

Save Freebies For Gifts
Little advertising freebies make good little gifts. I rounded out a birthday gift bag with some dream cards I got from a drug company and gave another set to some teenagers who helped me carry my groceries up the stairs!

Recipe for fizzing bath salts
4 parts sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) to 2 part citric acid (you can get this from the chemist or from the supermarket. Make sure it's suitable for culinary use). Mix the two together and sprinkle over your bath. It's simple, cheap and fun! As a variation, if you add 1 part scented oil and mix well, then put the mixture into moulds, you can use this recipe for fizzing bath bombs. By Beth McMillan from West Sussex, England
