Rainy Day Gift
My wonderfully, creative daughter came up with this idea one year "Money for a Rainy Day". Choose 10-20 bills (use whatever denomination you want), and tape a string on each (use various string lengths).

Make Your Own Potpourri
Think ahead for wonderful Holiday gifts. Each spring and summer I used to go around to my friends' gardens and pick the flower petals up from the ground. Take the flowers or petals home and lay them out on newspaper on the floor and leave to dry.

Craft Project: Recycled Flower Vase
A recycled flower vase is made from reusing an empty pickle jar. It is very simple to make by taking the most ordinary item, a pickle jar, and turning it into something beautiful with a little bit of paint, time and flowers.

Make a Family Calendar
I'm working on making a family calendar for our huge family for Christmas. I would like to find one I can do for free and insert photos and dates.

Make a Heritage Cookbook
When the family sits down to a favorite recipe, there's a special love there. When the recipe belongs to a departed Grandparent, the love multiplies.

Mix CDs for inexpensive Gifts
Make someone special a CD of music. You can even customize the CD labels and cases for occasions and holidays. Music is a great way to express how you feel and is very personal yet inexpensive.

Craft: Personalized Hand Towels
Cheap and easy Christmas gift. Take a new hand towel and some scrap fabric. Sew the scrap fabric to the hand towel and you have a personalized gift. This came about because I was too cheap to buy a Thomas the train towel for my son.

Making Personalized Homemade Gifts
Gifts and gift making. The last few years I've been making gifts for the adults and kids we exchange with. The gift is typically the same for those that I'm making for to save on time, planning, and materials. Each is personalized based on likes. I've made scarves, trivets, serving trays, hats, and notebooks/journals.

Family Vintage Photo Gift Idea
This is an inexpensive gift idea. I found a vintage photograph of a great-great-great aunt of my husband's riding a bull. It was too fabulous to do nothing with so I scanned it, made prints (about 18 cents each), and glued the photo to the front of blank note cards I got at a craft store (big pack of maybe 48, including envelopes, for about $5 with a coupon). I made sets of 12, tied them together with a pretty ribbon, and gave to people in my husband's family. They loved them!
