Collect Samples For Frugal Gifts
I have been out of work for 1 1/2 years and my sick leave pay ran out last March. I have 7 siblings and their families plus my 2 kids to buy gifts for on birthdays and holidays.

Gift Giving from Things You Already Have
Go through drawers, closets and jewelry boxes, etc. Find things that are clean, in great condition and give them as gifts.

Use Canning Jars to Start Cuttings
Instead of buying a plant for a birthday or housewarming gift, grow one. I have a few old canning jars in my kitchen window, and I grow new plants in water from clippings of older plants. When it has new roots I plant it in dirt and give a homemade gift that will last.

I buy dollar store soaps in holiday scents, like peppermint or even gingerbread scent. From thrift stores or again the dollar store or any outlet, buy cheap children mittens.

bestdealmagazines.com
I was having a hard time this year coming up with cheaper gifts for friends and family. I found this wonderful magazine site that has many magazines for under $5.00 for a one-year subscription.

Hugs and Kisses Gift Bag
For a quick and friendly gift, I take a gift bag fill with a bag of Hershey Kisses and use the computer (or write) the word HUG in many sizes and colors. You now have a bag of Hugs and Kisses. Always a big surprise.

Inexpensive Toys Made in the USA
Need safe toys MADE IN THE U.S.A. for a great-granddaughter that will be 4 years old in Dec. I do not sew or do handwork. Anyone have ideas that will be easy and not much money? ($10 - $20 max)

Ordinary Box As A Gift
Here's a great way to save money on gifts and get the kids involved too. This particular gift idea is so easy and says "I love you" so well. Make several of these keepsakes and give them to grandparents, aunts, uncles, and anyone who needs a smile.

Turn Mugs Into Gift Candles
A good way to use old mugs or even punch cups is to set a few cups on a tray, each one containing store bought votives (normally it takes two). Set the tray in the oven on 250 degrees F and let the candles melt.
