Giving Ear Drops to a Dog

My husband and I are having a hard time giving our dog his ear drops. He is a Blood Hound and snaps at us every time we try to put the drops in his ear. Any suggestions how we can do this?

Give him a few treats, then cover his face with a towel and continue giving treats. Desensitize his ears while keeping his eyes covered and giving treats. Pet his ears, put your finger in (gently!), etc. Once he seems okay with this, then try the drops. (01/09/2011)
