Giving Medication to a Pregnant Cat?

March 10, 2013

Pregnant CatMy cat was recently attacked by a dog or maybe a fox, not sure which, and had to have her full tail amputated. She also has a big scar on her side. She had the surgery, but the vet told us she is having kittens. Does anyone know if they will be OK while she's on antibiotics, pain killers, and also had local anesthetic? I would be very thankful for some help has I'm very worried. xxx

Poor kitty! I dont think any of those drugs would affect your kittens, but a call to the Vet. might be worthwhile to be really sure. Good luck to you all.

Too bad he didn't call you so he could abort and spay at the same time. It would be easier on the kitty. Deformed kittens are heartbreaking. Could very well happen not only from meds but from injury.
