Reusing Racks and Bins from Refrigerators
Great re-use idea! A friend was discarding an expensive, but old refrigerator. I asked for the bins which I use to wash things outside, and I asked for the wire shelves.

Collect Aluminum Cans When Walking
When I am out walking, which I do several mornings a week, I pick up any aluminum cans I see. We live in a nice neighborhood and it amazes me the amount of aluminum cans thrown out of cars as litter. I originally started to do this just to have the neighborhood look better, but then started crushing the cans and putting them in a large trash bag in the garage.

Pool Your Aluminum Recycling
I have recycled cans and bottles for years - but lack of space has made it harder and harder to collect enough to make it worth a trip. But throwing the stuff out made me so guilty!

Switch To Using Aluminum Cans
Currently I get 57 cents a pound for aluminum cans. I am not only reducing waste by switching from plastic bottles to cans, but also earning some money. I have made 5 dollars in less than a month as a single person.

Recycling a Toaster Oven and Grilled Pizza Tips
When my toaster convection oven broke, instead of throwing the whole thing out, I took a long look at it to see what might be salvaged and put to good use. Asked DH to see if it had any aluminum to recycle.

Uses for Wire Hangers
I have lots (over 90) wire clothes hangars. What can I do with them? I don't want to make crafts with them, Goodwill won't take them and the school Sculpture class doesn't want them. I hate to throw them away.

Uses for Used Canning Lids
I do a lot of canning and jam/jelly making and always end up with used lids. They can't be reused for canning since used ones don't seal. I have hundreds of them and just can't just throw them away. I've already used many for storage but still have lots left over. Any ideas, crafts or otherwise, are appreciated.
