Growing Cantaloupes

Growing Cantaloupes
Has anyone grown cantaloupes? I tried this year, just for fun. Only a few seeds grew and I have one cantaloupe. It is trailing up a tomato stake. Any ideas? Should I put it in a net so it doesn't break off? It is now the size of a baseball.

You can cut the bottom off a pair of panty hose and put a melon in each of them. Then tie it to your stake. The hose will expand with the melons.
