How Late Do You Hand Out Candy?
What time do you "close up shop" and turn off the porch lights for incoming Trick-or-Treaters on Halloween night? We get so few it is hard to tell when it is time. Many thanks.

Celebrating The Harvest Season
At our church we do not celebrate Halloween, we celebrate Harvest Season. At the party we use the theme of God's creations. The kids as well as the adults have the option to dress up as any of God's creations of the first 6 days of creation.

Celebrate Halloween All Month Long
We love Halloween and start celebrating October 1. We do at least one different Halloween activity every day leading up to October 31, and most don't require spending money. We start with unpacking our decorations on the 1st.

Halloween Alternatives
What if you don't celebrate Halloween but your kids want to dress up? Or maybe you'd rather to do a bit more on the educational side rather than simply buy a costume. Here are some ideas from my school and friends.

Homemade Pumpkin Mix from Scratch?
My husband and I bought some extra pumpkins for this Halloween season. We carved one but will use the other others to eat. Of course we'll roast the seeds. Does anybody know what is the best and easiest way of cooking a pumpkin so that I will have pumpkin puree/mix for future pumpkin pies? I plan on packaging and freezing extras and using them for pies in the future. Methods of cooking and duration of cooking time tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! pookster

Have a Fun, Frugal Halloween!
By Cyndi Roberts
For children (and the young at heart!) Halloween seems to be even more fun than Christmas. Maybe it's because they get to dress up and pretend to be the character of their dreams--or maybe it's just all the treats!

Using Halloween Candy for Christmas
As I was browsing the Halloween candy at Big Lots today, most of the chocolate (i.e. Hersheys, Milky Way, etc were $1.78 for the 11-12 oz size bag. Then I noticed they had also tagged the 22 oz bags of 1 kind with the same price tags. I bought enough to use in Christmas gift baskets (I'll just remove the orange ones). Careful looking pays off! Gross, Yucky, Creepy Halloween Recipes
My kids are having a Halloween party this year. I was hoping that someone might have some gruesome, gory, or creepy food recipes. I have looked at several sites but it seems that most have the same ones over and over again... Delaine in GA
