I never enjoyed playing with dolls when I was little, but I get a real kick out of dressing my dogs for Halloween. This year I made a special costume for Petey because he is as big as a horse!
I took a box, painted it white. Then I painted red stripes, leaving a spot to make the circle (I used a pan lid to make the circle.) I cut holes out for his head and arms (cut the flaps off the open end of the box where the legs come out).
Wow, this was hard to do, I can't lie. This is Michael "Drackson" (as my son calls him). We used DVD videos to sketch the make of the jacket. We bought a 60's style costume and used the little black leather jacket pattern.
This year my son DJ was invited to a Halloween party at the last minute and had to come up with something quick. We pulled this idea together with things we had around the house and it was a huge hit!
Duane Chapman is known as Dog the Bounty Hunter and lives in Hawaii with his wife Beth and family. My husband Todd agreed to wear the only store-bought part of this costume, the long blonde wig.
Take a man's size large crew neck white tee shirt. Take pants and shirt that fit your toddler and lay them out on the shirt. Cutout around the pants and shirt 1 inch larger. Cut out large "spots" from black fabric.
Popeye's arms are two pairs of tights (one inside the other) stuffed in the middle with stuffing and sewn to the sleeve of his shirt. I used some red material to pin around his neck for his collar and his yellow karate belt for his waist.
