I have a long runner that runs the length of my kitchen. It has recently started to buckle in a few places. What can I do to flatten it down?

Dying Carpet
My husband and I are about to purchase our first home. It is a foreclosure so its buy "as is". There's really not too much wrong with it other than carpet stains (and the carpet is a really light color, almost white).

Binding Carpet Remnants
Affordable carpet remnants can be found at thrift stores and carpet discount outlets; however, it's extraordinarily expensive to have a carpet bound with carpet binding. It cost anywhere from $300 to $500 to have a large remnant bound professionally.

Fluffing Indentations in Carpet
If you find indentations in your carpet after moving a piece of furniture, get a clean dish cloth or face cloth and put it in hot water and then wring it out. Place the cloth in the microwave and get it as hot as you want, about 3 minutes.
