Reuse Air Conditioning Water in the Garden
I noticed water coming from a pipe from in the attic of the house and traced it back to the unit for an air conditioner, that is in the attic of a lot of Florida homes.

Keeping Cool During Hot Weather
Years ago when I worked in a nursing home, the halls were air conditioned, but not the individual rooms. We would take a hand towel, soak it in cold water, ring it out and wrap around our necks, repeating as necessary. I have done this frequently at home, too.

Keeping Cool at Night
Right now we are in the middle of a heat wave and the humidity is out of this world. Since I don't have air conditioning, the nights trying to sleep are pretty unbearable even with the fan on.

Save Money Cooling Your Home
Would a dehumidifier reduce air conditioning operating costs? I heard a rumor that it does reduce the power bill for air conditioning. The cost reduction is the result, both of reducing moisture and the drier air makes it more comfortable.

Keep House Cool Without AC
I have central air conditioning, but I try not to use it except in extreme conditions, like very high humidity or rain on a hot day. To keep cool, I make sure I pull the blinds on any east-facing windows before I go to bed.

Buying An Efficient HVAC System
I need a new HVAC system for my house, about a 3 ton for a 2200 sq ft. I would like a system that is very efficient and which uses the new freon. I don't know the name of it. I would like to buy at a good price, someone has suggested an American Standard.

Use Mylar on Your Windows
My kitchen, bathroom and son's room are on the side of the house that get the evening sun. Unfortunately, that means these are the hottest rooms in the house to come home to.

Cleaning Home A/C Vents
Broom: Begin your cleaning task by sweeping off the vent covers. It may sound simple, but this step will help to remove most of the dust and allergens that get blown around the easiest.

Use Waxed Paper To Lower Summer Cooling Costs
When trying to keep the Western sun window cooler in the summer, how does one use the wax paper method? The shiny-side in? Thanks.
