I want to decorate my kitchen and living room in the style popular in the 40s. I noticed that the curtains are normally of a floral print and have already done that.
I have dark gray carpet and modern laminate (gray/white/flecks of black) (looks like granite) bedroom furniture. I've had a very light blush paint for the first three years, currently satin white for 15 years.
We just bought a new (older) home with a large living room and dining room in an L shape. The living room area is 20 feet long and 15 feet wide. The back wall is a solid wall into the dining room area and I have a large wall unit that I hope will look perfect on that wall.
I would like to set up my computer in my living room because of limited space. However, my living room is decorated in traditional/elegance style. Do you think it will look tacky with all the cords hanging down?

I recently bought 2 bundles of dried reeds that I would like to place on both sides of my fireplace. The reeds are about 8 feet in height, and each bundle is 10 inches in diameter.
