Repairing a Home Radiator
Can burst radiators be repaired? We have an old building for sale along with a house it is attached to. In several of the rooms, the radiators or pipe attached to radiator burst, due to freezing. Can these be fixed or replaced, and if so what would be approximate cost?

Using Foil Covered Cardboard to Reflect Radiator Heat
I was reading somewhere on TF that if you covered cardboard in foil shiny side out it will help throw out more heat from radiators. Do you cut the card the length of the radiator and how far down the radiator do you place it?

If you have a programmable thermostat running your heating/air conditioner, before calling a service tech, check the batteries. A lot of customers do not know that they usually have 2 AA batteries that run them.

Buying An Efficient HVAC System
I need a new HVAC system for my house, about a 3 ton for a 2200 sq ft. I would like a system that is very efficient and which uses the new freon. I don't know the name of it. I would like to buy at a good price, someone has suggested an American Standard.

Use Ceiling Fan Year Round to Save on Heating
By setting your room ceiling fan on its lowest setting and using year round for heat or air conditioner, you can help lower the cost of your electricity bill. Remember to reverse the switch on the ceiling fans adjustments.
