Magnetize Your Screwdriver
Having two brothers who loved to tinker around the house, they enjoyed showing me a few tricks. I surprised my darling husband with this one: When you rub a screwdriver or other metals with a magnet you create a magnetized screwdriver, etc.

Use a Broadcast Spreader for Salting Sidewalks
Winter is here and it seems like we constantly have to put down salt on either the driveway or the sidewalk. So my husband, being the clever person he is, came up with a very easy and cost effective way to put down our salt. He uses our hand crank seed thrower.

Oily Sand For Garden Tool Maintenance
Sink an old metal bucket into the soil and fill it with sand. Get some some old sump oil from your motor mechanic and pour it into the bucket saturating the sand.wooden handle is joined to the garden tool.

Book on How to use Power Tools
I am a DIY wannabe. I have quite a few simple Black and Decker tools but the manuals are so complicated and so not user friendly. I looked on Amazon to find a nice, easy, walk-me-through-and-not-scare-me how-to book and couldn't begin to pick one. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good, easy to understand how-to for power tools?

Removing Rust from Saw Blades
First cut some wood with it, to remove loose rust and dirt. Then scrub it with one of those plastic abrasive kitchen foam pads. Don't use the ones that have uniform small airholes, but the ones that have irregular size holes like a natural sponge and a green or blue abrasive pad on one side...

Storing Chisels
You can use an old tennis ball to help protect blades on your chisels. Just cut four slits into a tennis ball and insert your chisels into them when you are not using them.
