Stop a Window Brace from Rattling
I don't know if this would ever happen to you, but it did me.
Our sliding glass door has old lace curtains on a spring-loaded rod. I went to Walmart and bought 2 twin size white sheets and a second rod. I hemmed the sheets to fit the door and put them up behind the lace curtains.
I have lots of kids tattoos that they leave lying around. They might only use a few and then want to throw the rest of the page out. Recently I had a project where I was blocking out a window that led to another room for privacy.
I had these old, thread bare, smoky drapes. Because I didn't want to take down the ugly drapery rods, I chose to put up a board. I had this wonderful wallpaper boarder, and hot glued it to the board, along with the pretties I didn't want to worry about falling.
Need to accessorize your bedrooms? Buy sheets to match your bedrooms and make curtains. Curtains are an easy make, as you only have to worry about making two seams for the top.

Tips for saving money on windows as suggested by the ThriftyFun community. If you can get quality windows, even at a discount building material store, you will do well to get smaller ones that have the wooden or metal/plastic frames in the windows.
Buy 8-10- plastic stick-on holders for hanging dish towels. Buy the same amount of dish towels. Put stick-ons above the window where you would like the curtain. Put the dish towels on the holders. Stick-ons stick immediately! So make sure it is where you want it before you stick it. I got these at the Dollar Tree. You can also grab one to use in an emergency situation. I buy extras to match for kitchen use. I also change the towels to a orange, red and yellow stripe for a different color look. I get lots of compliments.
