Ice Cream in a Can

I am looking for a recipe for making ice cream in a can. I know you put a mixture in a small can, sealed tight, and then put that into a larger can and pack with ice and rock salt. Seal that tight, as well. The ice cream is made by rolling the can back and forth between two children (or two adults acting like children.) I need the recipe for the mixture and the proportions of ice to rock salt. Hope you can help.

Snow Cone Maker Ice Cream

IT is easy to make ice cream in a snow cone maker, put a small amount of each of these in a tall glass:

  • Vanilla, about 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sugar about 1 tsp or tablespoon
  • Milk or coffee creamer, about 1 tablespoon

Add about 2 tablespoons water and mix this up. Add snow from snow cone maker and wella! You have vanilla snow ice cream, safer then that made outdoors in the winter, and available anytime. (09/02/2004)
