I'm turing 17 on Feb 18 and I don't know what to do. My thought was miniature golf and it's glow in the dark, then maybe go to my house. Is that to kiddish? I need more ideas.

February 18th is also the Chinese New Year - so you could use that as a theme. (my birthday is also the 18th - but I will be 40! (wow!) - and we are having chinese food and homemade fortune cookies. Each person gets to write some fortunes to put in the cookies - we are making the cookies and mixing up all the fortunes and seeing who gets what. (02/03/2007)

My daughter had a volleyball party for her 16th birthday. We rented a gym for just $35 and had a great time. Everybody really loved it. We brought the cake and asked everyone else to bring a finger food. It was great. (02/03/2007)

One of our favorite parties (this is good for anytime) is an all night movie marathon. We, the parents, agree to stay up all night, so it can be girls and boys. We have done it where one parent sleeps at a time. We bring out the food a little at a time. That way there's stuff left for the last movie.

For an all nighter you need 4 movies, count time in between for bathroom breaks, to talk about the movie, and for people who can't stay to leave. (That's nice because some just can't stay all night, but it's nice to have them there for a while)

I have two boys, so our movie nights have been Jackie Chan or car chase movies. Now my daughter is old enough to have one she wants the three Cinderella movies. Her friends can't make it through a whole night yet. We even had one night that the movies turned out to be really bad so they dug into our old movies and ended up watching Karate Kid 1&2. They loved it.
It really is a lot of fun. (02/03/2007)

When you're 17 you're old enough to act young again! My friend who had the best parties did lots of fun games generally found at kids parties and we always had a great time! (02/04/2007)

I went to the greatest sleep over when I was 16. We did the regular sleepover stuff.. movies, games, PLUS my best friends mom made us VIRGIN daiquiris and margaritas along with chocolate dipped strawberries. These were virgin non-alcholic drinks of course, but they still made us feel very sophisticated and grown up. Good luck (02/04/2007)

My 17th birthday is on Feb 12th, I don't think I'm going to do anything big this year except party for several nights with my different groups of friends - but last year for my 16 I had a whole semi formal party at my house everyone dressed up and we made all these fancy drinks and had soo much food to eat - everyone loved it and people still talk about it a year later! When I was younger (18 or so) the funnest party I ever had was super cheap to do and a real blast. I found a Murder Mystery Party game at a thrift store, we all dressed up and got into character. You can do food and everything, I love those games. They have lots of themes and i know for a fact you can find one on ebay for just a couple of dollars. Maybe check amazon too.

Check it out I think you may be impressed, and you can get all the decorations at a thrift store or dollar store. We just did it in the living room, (small room) so you don't need a lot of space, and we had pizza too the whole think prob. only cost about $ 20.00 They vary in size about 6 to 8 to 12 people depending on the game. I really hope this helps you. (03/02/2007)

I have the same problem too I turn 17 on May 17th though. I don't what to do. I was thinking of a birthday party but we really don't have money for it. I didn't have a quinciniera or a sweet sixteen, so I kind of wanted to have some of my close friends. I'm thinking about maybe horse back riding but I'm really not sure. (04/10/2007)
