Ideas for Chips for a Quarter Auction?

We are having a quarter auction and need suggestions on what to use as numbered chips to draw the winning number. I know you can use ping pong balls, but looking for something a little less expensive.

The dollar store sells poker chips in 50 packs. Could you get those and use a marker to put numbers on them?

What about bread clips? Cost - nothing! I used these when I was teaching to cover bingo cards, for +/- chips for algebra, for just counting pieces, etc.

Good tip Louise. You can also get 16 poker chips at the dollar store in the toy section. Hope that helps.

You can use card decks. Usually pretty cheap. We tear ours into and give one to the person and put the othere half in the jar to draw from. That would be 52 people. If you have more than that, use 2 decks, one red and one blue. Call like the winner is red card jack of hearts.
