Identifying Porcelain Dolls?

So my friend's dear friend passed away and left her a ton of beautiful dolls and I said I would help her sort through them, but I don't know where to start. Some are numbered. Help! The picture is just the beginning.

Look for a manufacturers mark on the bottom or the back. If you can't find that, google the number at www.google.com/#q=doll+identification.

Also, pick a doll and see if you can find it on ebay which is an okay indicator of the value. Okay as it's not what industry standards are but what people who own something want for it.

A good place to start but never to stop.

And lastly find a doll dealer in your area of even across the country, and ask them to give you some advice. People love to help when it might mean some money in their pocket, and who knows, it just might.

Good luck.
