Identifying a Houseplant?

houseplant with long hanging parts with fuzzy red hairsDoes anyone know what kind of plant this is? It was given to me after my grandma passed away, but growing up I thought she'd said it came from Germany. The red spike looking things on the stems look as if they're sharp - but they aren't. They're fuzzy. I just want to know what it's called. Lol.

Looks like it might be a type of elephant ear due to the leaf size and shape. Best thought is to slip one leaf with complete stem and take it to a nursery or university if you live close to one to the agricultural department for an identification.
