I cannot get my Janome 9000 to wind the bobbin. It works fine except for this.

The section you need to check is number five - be sure you're following ALL the steps for winding and setting a bobbin.
If that doesn't resolve your issue it's time for a trip to the repair tech. The Memory Craft 9000 is a 'retired' model, meaning it's vintage now, and vintage machines, particularly the specialised ones like the Memory Craft (and comparable other maker machines) have been in service long enough for parts governing functions and features to have worn to the point of failure.
I work primarily on vintage Singers owned by my Sewing 101 students here in Scotland but never on the computerised machines as these 'fail' the soonest, sadly. For such expensive machines, they sure don't last long!
