Keeping Bagless Vaccum Cleaners Fresh

I found a little secret to making my vaccum smell fresh. I use a bagless one. They have a filter cup that starts to get a little stinky even if you keep it empty and clean. So I make my own carpet fresh.

Supplies:

1 cup baking soda
1 Tbsp cinnamon
1 Tbsp ground cloves
1 Tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp essential or warming oil ($2.00)
1/4 cup bath talc ($1.00)

Directions:

Mix all the ingredients together. You can keep it in a washed out parmesan cheese bottle. It's perfect for shaking out the powder. Leave on for 15 minutes or so and vaccum back off. It not only makes the carpet smell good, but keeps the vaccum smelling good too.

Another benefit is that you will be able to keep the filter cleaner. The ingredients seem to make the filter easier to clean out with a brush, it comes off almost instantly. I use ordinary kitchen ingredients and you can buy essential or warming oil from Wal-mart for just a few dollars a bottle.
