Keeping Chickens Warm During Winter

Our chickens absolutely love any special little treat we give them. So, on very cold days I'll cook up some oatmeal, enough for our flock of 16. But of course you don't want to add any sugar or butter : ) But if you like you could add a mashed up banana to the oatmeal, which our chickens love! Another way to keep your flock warm, is with cracked corn, which you can feed to your flock on a daily basis. As chickens digest the corn, it starts working their digestive system a lot more, to where it warms them up. You can find the cracked corn at any feed store or Tractor Supply.
