Keeping Dog's Ears Floppy

I have a 2 year old miniature Dachshund. Recently his ears have begun to fold; they now look like two fortune cookies. Is there a way to tape his ears to train them to be floppy again?

I saw where a previous poster had a similar problem and before everyone says it is cruel, he is my pet and he will be a show animal.

Perhaps you should ask people who already show their dogs and know the tricks of the trade. By the way, if you re-read the similar problem you mention in the archives below, you will see the question was regarding a mixed breed dog of which one breed has naturally pointed ears. (02/26/2010)

My mom tapped my ears back when I was a kid. She did that because she loved me. Thanks mom.

Wow. A lot of people straight-up suck. If your dog has perky ears, just put it down and get another one with ears which make you feel better as a loving pet owner. I did the same with my first born child. Brown eyes? No, Thank You!

You mean people are really binding their dogs' ears because they want to "show" the dog or because the dog will "be ridiculed" for it's ears? Pro-tip: if you have to bind a dachshunds ears for your own aesthetic tastes, the dog is already not of show quality. And, who exactly will be ridiculing these dogs if their ears don't have a luxurious sag to them? Are there highly judgemental, floppy-eared dogs who go around bullying their perky-eared cohorts?
