Kitchen Paint Color Advice?

I have a long red brick wall that separates my kitchen and living room and the other long wall is a slatted type wood wall that is a brownish red, but the ceiling has large wood beams. Now the house had been rented out to people before we purchased it so it has been repainted different colors a few times. The beams were apparently painted a light blue and then white was put over that about 3/4ths of the way (as far as they could reach from the looks of it). My counter top is a deep dark blue in front of a long window. I have white and black appliances. I was wanting to go with the red bricks with maybe a darker red paint, but I don't want it to all clash and I was hoping to not have to replace too much, but I can if I need to. Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you all.

I like your idea of the dark red.

On the wood I think a light brown would make it look more natural. As for the red brick wall I would go with a cream color to add some light to the room.
