I have a kitchen with a big window with no light coming in. In addition, the kitchen is L shaped with dark cabinets, but I want to paint using a color that will brighten the kitchen. It is a townhome that was not well thought out, it's like a cave! What color will brighten the kitchen? Thanks for your suggestions!

I always think that white or a light yellow are the best colours to lighten and brighten up a room. You might also consider adding extra lights, if it really is a dark room. There are undercounter lights that are nice, or I have a fluorescent fixture over the sink for added brightness, as well as the regular overhead lights in the kitchen.
I agree with Louise. Also have you consider use of mirrors or reflective covering for the window. Hope this helps.
