Kitchen Paint Color Advice?

I have a small kitchen and I want to paint it in two shades of yellow. Should I paint the walls the lighter yellow and cupboards the darker yellow?

I have a brick fireplace in the kitchen with gray countertops and black/silver appliances. A wood laminate floor and oak cabinets.
