Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • garlic, minced
  • 1 can tomato sauce (15oz.)
  • 1 can tomato paste (6oz.)
  • Ad
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • half of 16 oz. pkg. lasagna noodles
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups cottage cheese
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. sliced Mozzarella cheese (8oz.)
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

In saucepan, brown ground beef, onion, and garlic. Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 1 hour. Cook the noodles in boiling salted water until tender, and drain. Combine the egg, cottage cheese, and 1 teaspoon salt. Mix well. Grease 3 qt. casserole dish. Layer half of noodles, half of meat sauce, half of cottage cheese, half of Mozzarella and half of Parmesan. Repeat layers. Bake in 375 degrees F oven for 30 minutes. Let stand 15 minutes before serving.
