Yes it is good to keep our car keys at the same spot all the time so we know at all times where it is!
Quite a long time before car alarms I was awakened by an intruder in my home. Because I am a teacher i carried a whistle on my key ring which I grabbed and started making lots of noise.

I recommend keeping both your keys and purse/billfold in your bedroom at night. My home was broken into at night by a serial rapist. When he was in my room, he asked me my name--info gleaned, along with my cash, from my purse in the living room. If he had taken my purse or billfold, he would have permanently had more of my personal and financial information. Keeping my keys by my bed, and sleeping with a locked bedroom door have helped me feel more secure. I also know where to find my purse and keys each morning. Remember, too, that if keys are left in sight, anyone with access to your home could take a set, leaving your house, car, etc. vulnerable.
