Link: List of Senior Discounts
I think that there are enough seniors on Thriftyfun to make use of the following list of discounts you could receive.
Link: Inexpensive Reading Glasses at Speert.com
As I grow older, I need reading glasses to read most print. Reading glasses at most stores only go up to X2.50 (or maybe X3) strength - but you can find X4/5/6 reading glasses online at www.speert.com - for reasonable prices.
Go to www.dealextreme.com for one of their hearing aids for less than $15! (They have several other ones, too). I know there are a lot of seniors here, so I thought I would share. It could be used in a pinch.
Link: Black Friday Ads Website To Preview Sales
There is a website to see early ad scans of the day after Thanksgiving sales from major retailers. They add more stores each week. You can do extensive budget planning way ahead of time and plan your agenda if you go shopping than.
Link: RetailMeNot.com For Discounts
When shopping online, always check www.retailmenot.com before paying. You can usually find codes for free shipping, or a percentage off of the item. Just type in the company name you are shopping from in the Retail me not search bar and see what they have.
Links: Promotion Codes From Reader's Digest
For all those who are searching for promotion codes, the October issue of "Reader's Digest" lists websites to get promotion codes.
We don't normally mention commercial sites unless we feel that they might have some interest to our readers. This is an online shop opening today with games and puzzles that are actually inexpensive, inventive, unusual and fun.
I was having a hard time this year coming up with cheaper gifts for friends and family. I found this wonderful magazine site that has many magazines for under $5.00 for a one-year subscription.
I saw an article in a magazine with two websites that offer good prices on clothing.
I'm thinking a website is kind of a product, so I wanted to let people who want to save money about my experience with half.com. This is a site where you can purchase books, CD's, and DVD's for (usually) below half of what your would pay elsewhere.
The federal government's website has a lot of interesting government information. For example, surplus property auctions for state and federal agencies, including colleges, are listed at www.usa.gov.
Half.com - Discount Books, Video Games and More
Someone wrote in recently about buying used books from Amazon.com. You should also check out Half.com, a division of eBay. You are buying directly from an individual who has listed their item for sale on Half.com. It is NOT an auction-style sale, it is a set price. Check it out at http://www.half.com.
Tips for buying and selling at garage sales. Here's a snipet from their about page: "Hi my name is a Chris and I am a yardsale addict. I even dream about them. On Saturday mornings I wake up early without an alarm clock. I gave birth to my son one day after having a yardsale. After his birth (emergency c-section), I only missed one weekend of yardsales before I was back at 'em."
I found a great web-site which sells very cheap used books, some of which are pretty much brand new. The site only has about 3,000 books posted, but their inventory consists of over 18,000 books. There is an e-mail address on their home page, which you can submit requests to. I e-mailed them about a particular book I was looking for, and they e-mailed me back within 24 hours stating that they did have the book!!
I found a card called the "Discount Divas-n-Dudes Savings Card" that offers between 10%-25% off every purchase made at certain resale shops (thrift and consignment stores) across the country. I was already saving money by shopping at selected resale stores but how wonderful to save even MORE with this card. Information can be found at www.discountdivas.net Thanks! By Paige S. Outlaw
I have been looking for the link to the site that people write in and tell about the bargains they have gotten from Target, and other stores. Does anyone have any ideas? I forgot the link and I did bookmark it but seems to be no way to get to it. Please help.
