I have a brown carpet and a beige and dark brown sofa. What colours should I go for eg: curtains, rug, accessories?
I'm wanting black gloss furniture.

Adding curtains, rugs and accessories to your living room gives you the opportunity to add some bursts of color to the room. If you prefer dark colors, you might want to use burgundy or a dark sage or forest green color for the curtains and a rug that includes those same colors. If you want to add visual excitement to the room, adding some turquoise accessories and turquoise and cream or turquoise and brown curtains and rugs would certainly enliven the room.
I would put some tangerine in to give the room some color.
