Make Your Own Panties
Does anyone know where I can get patterns for womens panties? I would like styles with no elastic in the legs. I have made panties with elastic in the legs but would like the ones that look more like shorts. Other styles would be accepted.

Frugal Sleepwear
With the cost of clothes I feel it is best to scrimp first on the clothes no one sees you in. This excludes your spouse of course who will only care that you're soft and warm! I buy mens heavyweight crewneck undershirts in size Large Tall. They cover my rear but are small enough around my neck that my collarbones are covered. Then I buy pink dye for a buck and color them in my washer. I have a feminine cozy look that's still comfortable and cheap! Susan from Michigan

Sizing Down a Costume for a Child
When you are sizing down a costume for a child, have them try on the costume for fitting inside out and with the shoes (if any) they will be wearing with the costume. After they have the costume on (still inside out) mark where the seams for the intake will be.

Durable T-shirt Paint
I paint elaborate t-shirts for friends using tulip fabric paints but the paint starts peeling off after only a few washes. I tell them to use cold water and to air dry but it stills peels. Is there more durable paint that withstands a lot of washing? Ash from Canada

Some basic sewing skills are needed for repairing, changing or customizing a garment. More advanced skills are needed to remodel a garment or re-cut it for use by another family member. Before you start a recycling project, ask yourself the following questions:
