How do I make a fabric flower? It would be sewn on a nightgown to cover a stain.

The easiest way is to use wide ribbon, and sew a long running stitch down one edge, then just pull the edge until the short ends meet, instant flower! If the single layer flower isn't enough, make several and sew them together at the center.
