September 4, 2007

Casserole Dish in Wicker CarrierDoes anyone have a pattern for a casserole carrier with handles. I've seen them in mail-order catalogues and it seems it would be fairly easy to make one. Thanks for any suggestions.

I found exactly what you're looking for in a catalogue. The pattern costs $6.95. Here's the link to their website:

If you crochet, just type into your search bar: crochet casserole carriers. It should give you different sites to check out.

I made a 2 quart crocheted one four years ago with cotton crochet thread and it turned out very nicely. Good luck!

I have been searching for patterns to make a casserole carrier. I'm not sure what they are called! They are made of fabric and used to transport hot casseroles to functions or to pot luck suppers. They are designed to help keep the casserole hot. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

These are called cozies. You can crochet, knit, quilt, sew them. I would try googling any free patterns site, plug in the catch phrase, see what comes up. Have fun.

I would like to find an assortment of patterns to knit or crochet for casserole dishes of various shapes and sizes. One would be a round dish and the other would be a rectangular size - 8 X 13, I think.

Is it like this one? It is a pic only, no instructions.
www.pyrexlove.com/.../

You could use the pic to make your own pattern.
The one below could be used to start with and then adjust from there:
