Making a Pickle Fork

Modified fork.Odd pieces of silver or silverplate can find a new life when transformed into a useful kitchen gadget. Using needle nosed pliers, curl up the two outer tines on one side of the fork and the outermost one on the other side, leaving one tine unbent. You now have a very functional pickle fork and a great conversation piece. If you're buying flatware for a wedding gift, buy an extra fork and add a special touch with a pickle fork to match.

Good Idea! a couple of years ago, I found a lot of old silver ware at a garage sale, my husband bent the tines, the two on the outside back, the two in the middle forward, until it leaned back enough to hold a picture of family, or what ever. That was our Christmas gifts that year... We do 40 gifts so we do really cheap gifts, that mean a lot to people. Every year, people are waiting to see what we are going to come up with next. One year we took just the handles of silverware and made angel pins. We bought the pearl beads for heads. We bought the head and wings at hobby lobby. These was a really big hit. Happy crafting! kddid

They also make great wind chimes and I have seen them used for cupboard door pulls in a kitchen.

If you do preserving, you could do "Down Home" pickles with the pickle fork attached to the jar with twine for a special gift.. I LOVE the fork idea. Thank you
