Making a Wooden Peach Cut Out Look Realistic

I bought a peach shaped piece of wood for crafts. I would like to know if there is something I can put together to give it a mock peach feeling if you were to touch it? Also what would be the best paint to use as I want a realistic look to it?

You might check with your local paint Store or a interior decorator for tips on texturing in painting or faux finishes that would resemble the velvet feel if a peach.
