Male Cat Losing Patches of Fur?

I have a 2 1/2 yr old male cat. He has been spaded. He has recently been losing patches of fur on his right side, on his belly, and on his inner hide legs. I just noticed within the last couple days that he has a new spot on the left side of his belly. When it first started it looked like he had 2 teeth marks on the right side of his belly and it just got worse from there. When he starts losing a new patch it's got a red/pink tint to it, then goes away within a day or so.

It doesn't seem to bother him, although, he doesn't like being picked up, not unless you're almost too easy with him. (sometime new). He is still his same old silly, loving cat. I would like to get some kind of idea of what this could be before taking him to the vat. I also have another cat, but she is fine.

Your cat could have any number of problems from your description. It is very difficult for most people to make an accurate diagnosis and recommend treatment from this limited information and without actually being able to see your cat's problems.

Fortunately, there are special people who spend many long years and much money to help animals. Veterinarians are able to successfully evaluate and treat many animals. Unfortunately, many people allow their pets to become much worse with a condition until they finally take their pets to a veterinarian. Usually at this point, treatment can be much more expensive than at the start of a problem. Also, the animal has spent weeks suffering from a condition that could have initially been treated and resolved long before.

Please take yiour cat to a vet now for fast and effective care!

Sounds like your cat may have an abscess. An abscess starts with a small puncture wound, like a bite, that gets infected. The infection spreads underneath the skin. It's typical for fur to fall out over the infected area and for the area to be painful.

Your vet will prescribe antibiotics and give you other explanations and advice you need to treat your cat.
