I have searched for a "manwich" recipe. My dd loves this, and the other homemade sloppy joes I have tried, she didn't care for. Thank you in advance for all suggestions for these.

I make an easy and delicious sloppy joe by browning ground beef, season with salt and pepper. Add your favorite barbeque sauce. Place sauce on hamburger buns. Serve hot and sloppy! (05/17/2006)
The way I make my sloppy joes (manwich) is: I brown my ground beef, sauteed onions and green peppers in very little water and BBQ sauce, add a little mustard, A1, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, celery seed, and whatever else I think might taste good and add it to the peppers and onions, your BBQ sauce and viola! I have been fixing it like this for years. I think it tastes better than anything you get from a can. Experiment with the spices. They are added according to your taste. I think you'll like it! Brown the meat in a non-stick pan or with a little oil in a regular pan. Add remaining ingredients, except the buns. Cook for about 15 minutes, to blend flavors and to reduce the liquids.
Serve over the buns, for open face barbecue, or spread a little on one half, sprinkle with pickle relish, and eat like an ordinary sandwich.
Brown the hamburger, drain, add remaining ingredients, mix completely, heat through, and serve on buns. I got this off a newsletter on internet and made it last week. Very good. The canned Manwich gives me heartburn. If you like, try adding chopped green peppers. (05/17/2006)
None of these recipes sound like a match to Manwich which has red and green peppers in it! I came up with what I think is a close match
Brown meat with onion and pepper in large skillet. Drain fat. Add rest of ingredients and simmer for about 20 minutes.
Note: could also add a dash of vinegar. (05/18/2006)
Brown beef and then drain. Mix sauce ingredients in bowl and then add to beef. Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes. (05/18/2006)
Here's a recipe from a cookbook I've had for almost 25 years, it was originally used as a filling for Sloppy Joe turnovers:
Heat oil in a medium saucepan. Add meat. Cook over medium heat until no longer pink, breaking up with a spoon. Add onion and green pepper. Cook 3 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients. Simmer 5 minutes. Makes enough for 6 to 8 Sloppy Joes. (05/18/2006)
Brown meat and onions and add whiskey (reduce a little). Add rest of ingredients and cook for about 13-16 minutes to reduce (stir as needed).
Serve on toasted buns with a pickle on the side. (01/22/2009)
