I'm starting a home cleaning business does anyone think the name Family Trends home cleaners is good? My slogan is "caring for your home".

I used to have a cleaning business and I named it Little Piggies. Let me tell you, that name was such a hit! People used to call all the time saying that they chose us because of the name and that their homes were pig sties. I had cute t-shirts made up that showed 3 pigs each holding a duster, one with a vacuum, etc. That name became famous in town. I had envisioned that someday we would would all drive little pink VW Bugs with curly tails in the back and little ears on the roof. (04/10/2007)

What sort of licenses do I need and how do I obtain them?
If someone else has a business license for a cleaning business, she used to have. If she were to just say she ran the company would that be legal? Can you just use the same license again? If I kept the same name? I have a lot of questions. If someone could give me a website that has the information that would be wonderful. Please help I am 16 and have been on my own for about a year now. I used to work at a cleaning company but it was to far to commute. I like that type of work a lot, I have to keep busy. I am in the middle of getting emancipated which is why i really need to details about this type of license. because I am really excited about this opportunity and need to jump on it now. Me and boyfriend are ready to get our life started together, to ensure a bright future.

Look up "Starting a business in ____" put in the blank, you state of residence. Different states have different business requirements. You may or may not need a business license in your state. You may also need bonding or insurance so if you cause any damage to someone's home, you are covered.
It's hard for anyone to know whether an existing license would work for you or not because each states laws are different. Because you are under 18, it might be a good idea to have someone else own the business until you are old enough.
