| Budget Calculator - Debt Calculator
As a former Credit Analyst and Credit Counseler, I have to say this debt calculator is the best! You can see how long it will take you to pay off your debt if you only pay your minimum payments. It also give you the options of seeing when you'll be debt free by fixed payments, or you can check a "Debt-Free Deadline" by entering when you want to be debt free and the calculator will show you how much you need to pay. You need to stick to the plan in order to get it done, and not use the credit cards you're trying to get rid of.

| Tips for Saving Money When Income is Limited
Right now we are living on one income as I am unemployed. We are a family of 5: me (41), hubby (38), son (16 no permit), daughter (14), and son (11). It isn't easy but we have made a strict budget and are sticking to it! We also shop at Aldi's, a local Mennonite discount grocery store, and local discount retailers. No extra's allowed right now until I get back to work! . . .

| Bring Your Own Coffee
I like to have a cup of coffee on my way to work. Sometimes I spend a dollar on this luxury. About a month ago, I was at Gordon Foods in Michigan (they are a institutional food supplier with retail outlets). I went to the paper products aisle and found styrofoam cups (a variety of sizes) and lids to go with them. The price was very reasonable. Now I take a cup of coffee from home in one of these. Probably costs me an additional 10 cents (I would have thrown the left over coffee in the sinK. Now I drink it on the way to work. Sure makes traffic jams and train crossings more bearable.

| Eating Out on a Budget
By Amy Allen Clark
Eating a meal out can be a really expensive event, but it really does not have to be. Ideally, we would all eat our meals at home and save ourselves the expense of having someone else prepare a meal for us, but I admit that there are just those nights where I do not feel like cooking. When you find yourself having one of these nights, keep in mind these tips for saving money on your dinner bill.

Last year when the price of natural gas went up, I was shocked at my heating bill. Almost one weeks paycheck a month was going to keeping my house at only 65 degrees. I decided a change had to be made

| Take The Time To Get Organized
By Terry Rigg
It can be a real pain to find all of your bills and receipts and organize them in a manner that makes it easy to pay your bills on time and be able to find a receipt if you need it. However, this is just as important as developing a budget or setting your financial goals. If you don't have your finances organized, eventually you will miss paying a bill or have to pay a bill twice because you couldn't find the receipt.

| Sticking to a Lunch Budget
I am not working currently as I am a carer for my elderly parents, so I eat lunch at home. I have set myself a budget of 1 pound a day for everything I eat, except for our main meal at night with my husband. It is quite possible to make 1 pound (British, 2 bucks approximately American) stretch, as I mostly live on snacks and fruit during the day. I mentally calculate the cost of everything as I go along - I know that's a bit sad, but it gives me a sense of satisfaction to stick within my budget. If I do go over one day, I cut back the next. It's a bit like a diet I suppose. I can make a big bowl of mashed potato with grated cheese mixed in for about 50p, and this covers lunch for 2 days. Then I can have a banana, an apple and a bag of crisps. There is no limit put on our evening meals, but we don't go mad! I am a great believer in looking after the pennies etc.
