Giving to the Goodwill
He said when you donate to Goodwill or another charity, only donate stuff that is good. Don't use Goodwill as a place to throw away your trash. If something is too worn out, stained, damaged beyond repair, or just plain out of fashion...put it in the trash, don't give it to Goodwill for them to throw away. That costs them money.

Something Frugal and Caring
When looking for something frugal to do or somewhere go, take into consideration that there are people that could use some company. Don't overlook the elderly or handicapped. A small gift of your time could brighten someone's day.

Understanding Freebies
By Jeffrey Strain
It seems that everyone is after "freebies" these days to save a little money. While this may appear to be a good way to save, understanding why freebies are offered and the different types of freebies that are available is essential to make sure you aren't spending more that you thought.

Disposing of Unused Pet Food
If you were to buy a brand of pet food that your pet won't eat for whatever reason. Don't toss it out in the trash, look in your phonebook to see if your city/town has a no kill animal shelter. Take it there. Lots of people take their pets they no longer want there and just forget about them. They still have to eat and any donations are greatly appreciated and accepted.

FREE for Charity, School, Church, etc. Events
I don't know where you live...but if you have a HomeTown Buffet, Old County Buffet or County Buffet in your area contact their Community Rep. We offer cookies & passes for your event, usually we need a week advance notice. Some, like me even bag & tag the cookies with your logo and/or message. Quite a few restaurants are now doing this. So, if your little league, or Church or any event is coming up give us a call & we'll see what we can do. Robyn in Milford, CT

Donate to Groups Responding to the Tsunami Disaster

The recent Tsunami from an earthquake near Sumatra has left a huge number of people in several countries without homes, medicine, food or water.

Below is a list of some of the many groups providing critically needed humanitarian aid to tsunami victims. Please consider making a generous donation to one or more of these groups. . .

The U.S. Government has pledged 30 million dollars to relief. If you divide that out among the number of American's that is only a dime per American. Even the poorest of us can afford a dollar and many of us can contribute more. Please consider making a generous donation to one or more of these groups. . .

A Lunch Bag for Panhandlers
I don't like giving money to panhandlers but sometimes want to do something. I fixed up lunch bags with a juice box, snack mix, apple, cookies and a candy or two, and a reminder that God loves them. I can hand this to someone on the freeway ramp easily. By Linda

'Ho Ho Ho' and Other Secrets of the Holiday Season
By Colleen Langenfeld
Pssst. Come over here. I have a secret. Santa doesn't work alone. He has help. Lots of it. Here's another secret. Presents DO mysteriously appear under Christmas trees...and sometimes on doorsteps, too.
