Giving to the Goodwill

He said when you donate to Goodwill or another charity, only donate stuff that is good. Don't use Goodwill as a place to throw away your trash. If something is too worn out, stained, damaged beyond repair, or just plain out of fashion...put it in the trash, don't give it to Goodwill for them to throw away. That costs them money.

Disposing of Unused Pet Food

If you were to buy a brand of pet food that your pet won't eat for whatever reason. Don't toss it out in the trash, look in your phonebook to see if your city/town has a no kill animal shelter. Take it there. Lots of people take their pets they no longer want there and just forget about them. They still have to eat and any donations are greatly appreciated and accepted.

A Lunch Bag for Panhandlers

I don't like giving money to panhandlers but sometimes want to do something. I fixed up lunch bags with a juice box, snack mix, apple, cookies and a candy or two, and a reminder that God loves them. I can hand this to someone on the freeway ramp easily. By Linda

Target and the Salvation Army

Hello! This is more of an opinion than a tip. I think it's terrible that Target stores will not let the Salvation Army bell ringers stand outside their stores this holiday season! They help many people. I for one will NOT be shopping at Target this season! By aeromama
