Drafty Window Tips
Here is a simple way to keep cold drafts from coming in your windows. Roll up some sheets of newspaper into a small tube, tape the ends, and place it in the bottom of the window where the cold air comes in.

Saving Energy Drying Clothes
It's best to keep your dryer hot by running one load after another. It will help maintain your dryer's heat. It consumes the most energy while it is heating up. Clean the lint dryer between every use and don't over dry clothing.

To save energy while cooking, try to cook more than one thing at once in the oven. For example, when I'm cooking a casserole at 400F, I also put in the oven a batch of muffins. The muffins just come out of the oven earlier...

Dishwashing - Water Saving Tip
Instead of rinsing dishes under running water when dishwashing, fill a basin with rinse water and a small splash of vinegar (the vinegar neutralizes the dish detergent and leaves the glasses sparkling). I live in a high humidity area during summer, so my basement dehumidifier is always filling up. Rather than just dumping the tank when it's full, I pour it into my clothes washing machine when I start a load of clothes. It's a great way to recycle the water, and I save money on my water bill.
